Once a broken heart ( never a friend)
I read you with oblivious eyes
Perhaps tears of pain caused
And a million other reasons
Which can’t be said
In this language that we use
The one that allowed communication
Broken hearts
Should not be friends
Not even with best intentions
For all of them
Pave smooth and firm
The road to hell
That’s the lesson I learned
Yesterday and more so today
And quite ironically
At both ends of the pain
So tomorrow
My heart will look the other way
And perhaps listen to my brain
Once a broken heart
Never a friend
Never again…
